Prospects for cooperation with Singapore-based Wilmar International were considered

On September 23 of this year, the Minister of Investment, 
Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan 
Laziz Kudratov held negotiations with the Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore company
Wilmar International Kuok Hoon Hong.

For reference: Wilmar International was 
founded in Singapore in 1991 and is one of the 
leading agro-industrial corporations in Asia. 
The company is among the largest companies by market 
capitalization on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Wilmar International has more than 500 manufacturing 
plants and more than 50 logistics centers in 50 countries, 
including China, India and Indonesia. 
The company's net profit in 2022 was estimated 
at $2.4 billion. The number of employees is 100,000 people.

During a constructive exchange of views, further expansion 
of mutually beneficial cooperation was discussed, 
including in the field of agriculture, bearing in mind 
the implementation of joint projects for the production 
of essential food products, such as vegetable oil, flour, 
rice, as well as products for the livestock industry. 
Representatives of Wilmar International highly appreciated 
the existing production facilities they studied directly 
in the regions of the country.

As a result of the negotiations, mutual readiness was 
expressed for further development of cooperation and the 
adoption of bilateral measures for the speedy start of 
work within the framework of the implementation of the 
discussed projects and initiatives.
