So far, five official visits of the President of the Republic to India were paid: August 17-19, 1991, January 4-6, 1994, May 1-3, 2000, April 4-6, 2005 and May 17-18, 2011.
Issues of bilateral relations in this sphere are regulated within the framework of established in 1992 Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India. From 1993 to 2014 eleven IGC meetings took place, the last of which was held on August 16-19, 2019, in Tashkent.
According to the results of 2017, the trade turnover amounted to $ 323.6 million, including export – $32.5 million, import – $291.1 million.
Currently, 125 enterprises with participation of Indian capital, including 21 with 100% foreign capital, are operating in Uzbekistan.
