The Business Forum with the participation of countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)

The 5th Business Forum with the participation of ECO member states was held in Tashkent on November 8, 2023. The event is considered the next important step in strengthening international economic partnership.
For reference: Members of the ECO are Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan became a member of this organization in 1992.
According to the Statistics Agency, in January-September of this year, Uzbekistan carried out trade activities with 193 countries, while the share of ECO countries in foreign trade amounted to 20.5 percent or $9.2 billion.
The event was attended by more than 300 delegates from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and more than 500 delegates from Uzbekistan, including leaders and representatives of chambers of commerce, ministries, industry institutes, banks and private companies, who discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation, as well as prospects for its expansion and intensification.
At the Business Forum, bilateral meetings between representatives of the fuel and energy, chemical, food, textile and other industries were organized, during which further plans to expand business cooperation in these industries were identified.
