Lactalis expanded into Uzbekistan in 2020 as part of its international dairy business. The group’s history records the acquisition of Nestlé’s business in Uzbekistan and the transition of the local Sutim milk range into the Lactel portfolio, creating a production and commercial base for Lactalis brands in the country.
The company’s published employer profile identifies one manufacturing facility in Namangan and one office in Tashkent. It reports a workforce of more than 300 people across the Uzbek operation, covering factory production, quality control, supply, sales, distribution and administrative functions.
The scale of the operating business is reflected in its sales. Reporting published in July 2025, based on statements by a representative of the foreign enterprise Lactalis Central Asia, placed the company’s annual turnover at nearly UZS 1 trillion.
Lactalis’s investment presence has also been discussed at the state level. During a meeting in November 2023, Uzbekistan’s presidential administration described Lactalis as operating 270 plants in 52 countries and discussed the development of dairy production in Namangan. The functioning factory, national commercial operation and local workforce establish Lactalis as an implemented international food-manufacturing project in Uzbekistan.
