Silverleafe

Representatives of US-based Silverleafe International arrived in Uzbekistan in 2018 and established Silverleafe LLC with local partners in the Pakhtakor district of Jizzakh region. The enterprise was designed as a mechanized agricultural cluster operating across three connected areas: farming, irrigation and textiles.

The company’s published timeline records its first cotton harvest in September 2019 and its sixth harvest in September 2024. Silverleafe developed its own Pulsar irrigation system using surge-flow principles and tested the technology in Uzbekistan as part of its work to improve water distribution and cotton-field management.

Silverleafe reports that its cotton gin produces roughly 26,000 tonnes of cotton fibre annually. The enterprise sources cotton from its approximately 2,000-hectare farm and from neighbouring farmers cultivating a combined 9,200 hectares, linking its own production with a broader local supply network.

The company planted 50,000 cherry trees in 2021 to establish a nursery and has conducted research with specialists from the University of Mississippi and Uzbek scientific institutions in water conservation, soil science, cotton-seed treatment, biostimulants and plant protection. On 14 July 2021, it became the first enterprise from Uzbekistan’s agro-industry sector to join the United Nations Global Compact.
