O‘ZAuto-Austem

O‘ZAuto-Austem was established in February 2011 by South Korea’s Austem Co., Ltd. and Uzbekistan’s Uzavtosanoat, and officially began operations on 20 September 2012. Its product range includes wheel discs and chassis components for Chevrolet models such as Cobalt, Lacetti, Tracker and Onix.
In May 2012, reported investment in developing the enterprise’s production facilities amounted to US$31.1 million. This figure represents investment in the overall project; the South Korean partner’s contribution was not separately disclosed.
As reported in 2025, the company’s annual production capacity was 900,000 steel wheels and 246,000 chassis components, supported by pressing, welding, painting and assembly lines. These figures represent production capacity rather than actual annual output.
The venture also has documented localization and export results. In 2014, it exported US$200,000 worth of products. By April 2015, the reported localization level stood at 51% for steel wheels and 47.4% for chassis components. These historical results demonstrate that the partnership progressed into operating production, local sourcing and exports.
