KNAUF

German building-materials producer KNAUF entered Uzbekistan in 2005 and established production operations in the Bukhara Region, which were later expanded with additional manufacturing capacity in Fergana. Over multiple development phases, the company invested more than €50 million (~$55–60 million) into its Bukhara gypsum quarry and processing complex, building an annual output capacity of 30–35 million m² of plasterboard and over 240,000 tonsof dry gypsum mixtures. In 2022, KNAUF commissioned its third facility, KNAUF Gips Fergana, backed by an investment of €18.7 million, adding an annual production capacity of 17 million m² of gypsum building boards and 40,000 tons of dry mixes. KNAUF’s operations utilize domestic gypsum resources, substantially curb reliance on imported building materials, and support the country's rapid construction sector growth.
