Air Products
Air Products, a United States-based industrial gases company, entered into a major investment agreement with the Government of Uzbekistan and Uzbekneftegaz in May 2023. Under the agreement, the company committed US$ 1 Billion to acquire, own and operate industrial gas production facilities at the Uzbekistan GTL complex in the Kashkadarya Region.
The facilities include large-scale air-separation units, a synthesis-gas production unit and related infrastructure. Air Products supplies oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and synthesis gas under a long-term contractual arrangement, supporting the continuous operation of one of Uzbekistan’s most technologically advanced energy facilities.
The investment introduces international expertise in industrial-gas production, plant safety and operational efficiency. It also strengthens Uzbekistan’s capacity to convert domestic natural gas into higher-value products, supports skilled employment and contributes to the modernization of the country’s energy and chemical industries.
