Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent

MDIST was established on 5 September 2007 by a resolution of the President of Uzbekistan, following discussions on education cooperation during a visit to Singapore earlier that year. It is a joint venture in which the Management Development Institute of Singapore holds 51% and the Uzbekistan Banking Association 49%.

Programmes follow the standards of MDIS Singapore and of Uzbekistan. The one-year Foundation Program, seven modules over two semesters, focuses on English and business fundamentals. Students then choose a partner (the University of Sunderland, Bangor University or Teesside University in the UK) for a three-year undergraduate programme. The MBA is offered in five specialisations (Finance, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain Management and Human Resource Management) and takes 15 months of full-time study.

The campus and student hostels stand on a 5.2-hectare site on Bunyodkor Avenue in Tashkent's Chilanzar district, with classrooms, computer labs, a hospitality training centre, an indoor swimming pool, a gym and sports courts. The institute reports more than 5,000 enrolled students from Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries, and more than 4,500 graduates.
