China Gezhouba Group (a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation) developed one of the country’s largest greenfield cement production complexes in the Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand region, backed by an initial direct capital investment exceeding $220 million within a multi-phase $340 million development envelope. The project connects the group’s engineering and industrial activities with Uzbekistan’s construction materials market.

Utilizing advanced dry-process rotary kiln technologies and waste-heat power generation, the plant maintains an annual design capacity of 2.4 million tons of specialized cement and clinker. The integration of clinker production and cement manufacturing provides the basis for supplying binding materials used in concrete and mortar.

The facility employs over 600 workers, providing domestic construction projects with industrial-grade binding materials while significantly curbing reliance on imported cement. Its manufacturing presence in Samarkand region adds an industrial supplier serving construction activity in the surrounding market.
