Uz-Kor Gas Chemical

Located in the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, Uz-Kor Gas Chemical LLC operates the Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex, representing a foundational $4 billion cross-border investment executed between Uzbekneftegaz and a South Korean consortium led by Lotte Chemical, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), and GS E&R. The venture combines Uzbekistan’s gas resources with the industrial participation of South Korean energy and chemical companies.
Processing up to 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually from the Surgil field, the facility separates valuable hydrocarbons to manufacture 387,000 tons of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and 83,000 tons of polypropylene (PP) per year, alongside pyrolysis gas and light hydrocarbons. Its integrated operations connect natural gas processing with the production of polymer raw materials.
The petrochemical enterprise supplies raw polymer granules to national industrial manufacturers and exports technical polymers to over 30 countries across Asia and Europe. These polymer granules form the starting material for manufacturers that convert resins into finished plastic goods.
