Dehqonobod Potash Plant
Built under an engineering and investment framework exceeding $120 million involving China’s CITIC, this complex yields over 200,000 tonnes of potassium chloride fertilizer per year.
Located in the Dehkanabad district of the Kashkadarya region atop the Tubegatan potassium salt deposit, the Dehqonobod Potash Plant is the only industrial potassium fertilizer manufacturer in Central Asia, developed with over $120 million in direct equipment procurement and engineering contracts involving China’s CITIC Construction. The enterprise combines mineral extraction with fertilizer manufacturing, bringing mining and chemical processing into a single production chain.
The industrial asset integrates an underground sylvinite extraction mine, a 30-kilometer specialised aerial ropeway system, and a surface processing refinery capable of producing 200,000 tonnes of potassium chloride (KCl) annually. Its infrastructure connects the underground resource base with the processing facilities that prepare fertilizer for sale.
The plant fully satisfies Uzbekistan’s agricultural potash needs and exports processed potassium fertilizers to more than a dozen overseas destinations. The company’s focus on potassium fertilizers complements the nitrogen and phosphate segments of Uzbekistan’s fertilizer industry.
