"Following our visit to Tashkent, a city that has been at the heart of the Silk Road for centuries and a meeting point for East and West, trade, and civilizations, we held a meeting with my esteemed counterpart, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Mr. Laziz Kudratov. In line with our Presidents' goals of $5 billion in trade volume in the short term and $10 billion in the medium term, we agreed to accelerate and finalize the negotiations for expanding the Preferential Trade Agreement. During our meeting, we discussed the support we will provide for new investment projects, reflecting our confidence in Uzbekistan and our long-term perspective, and the enthusiasm stemming from the fact that our investments in the country are expected to reach $8.2 billion by 2025."
Furthermore, the contributions of Turkish companies in Uzbekistan are not limited solely to investments; our contracting and technical consulting firms also play a significant role in the transformation of the New Uzbekistan. In this context, Turkish contractors have implemented more than 300 projects in Uzbekistan to date, with a total value exceeding $9 billion. Many projects, such as "Tashkent City," "NestOne," and "Pyramid," which have become symbols of a growing and developing Uzbekistan, bear the signature of Turkish contractors. We are determined to further strengthen our commercial and economic relations with Uzbekistan, which are deepening and developing day by day."
