On November 10, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum and Conference, dedicated to strengthening trade and economic relations and expanding investment cooperation between the two countries. The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan together with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), brought together more than 300 representatives of business, government institutions, and international partners across key sectors — including industry, pharmaceuticals, textiles, agriculture, and healthcare.

Mansurjon Rasulev, Acting Director of Uzbekistan Investment Promotion Agency, took the stage with a presentation titled ‘New Uzbekistan: A Big Country with Big Opportunities’, and outlined the country’s comprehensive reforms aimed at creating a favorable investment environment — from simplified access to land and infrastructure to the introduction of tax and customs incentives, public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms, and an ambitious privatization program. He also emphasized the growing role of special economic zones (SEZs) equipped with ready-to-use infrastructure, offering foreign investors the opportunity to rapidly establish production facilities.

"Today, Uzbekistan offers its partners not just an investment destination, but a complete business ecosystem — from sound macroeconomic policies to full-scale investor support throughout the project cycle. For Pakistani entrepreneurs, there are new opportunities in pharmaceuticals, textiles and leather processing, and logistics. The Agency is ready to assist such initiatives at every stage, from initial consultations to operational launch,” — said Mansurjon Rasulev.

He also underlined the strategic importance of transport and logistics cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, including the development of transit corridors that will connect the two countries’ production capacities and enhance access to markets in Central Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia.

The strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan — reinforced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Uzbekistan earlier this year — has opened a new chapter in bilateral economic relations and created additional opportunities for joint investment projects with the participation of Pakistani businesses. The Investment Promotion Agency continues to support Pakistani entrepreneurs in exploring Uzbekistan’s market potential, establishing direct connections with local companies, and developing promising areas of cooperation in industry, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors.
