International conference of investment and business circles

On September 4, 2020, Sodik Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the international online conference “Frontier Investor Days”, dedicated to informing about the economic situation, investment climate and opportunities in the markets of developing countries.

The event was attended by more than 100 banking and financial institutions, investment companies, pension and hedge funds, including EBRD, HSBC, Blackrock, Fidelity, BCR Private Pension Fund, Sandglass capital advisors (UK) ltd, Dunross & Co, InterCapital Asset Management, Karoll Capital Management,Metzler Asset Management GmbH and others.
Separate sessions were organized for countries such as Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, Croatia and Uzbekistan, dedicated to economic development issues.
A separate session of the international conference was devoted to the development of capital markets and economic prospects in Uzbekistan.

 Speaking at it, Sodik Safoev informed the participants about the experience of Uzbekistan in combating the coronavirus and the measures taken in the country to ensure the stability of the economic situation in the context of the pandemic. A detailed presentation was made on the state and prospects for the development of the capital market in Uzbekistan, including plans to create an International Financial Center in the country, as well as privatization processes and measures to ensure the investment attractiveness of enterprises with state participation

There was a dynamic economic growth even against the background of the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, an increase in the country’s position in international rankings, and a successful entry into the international stock market.

The conference participants were informed about support measures for entrepreneurs, about improving economic and investment legislation. It was noted that today Uzbekistan is open for foreign investment and further stimulation of business activity.
