With the participation of JICA, a third combined cycle plant will be built at Navoi TPP

 On September 9 of this year, a Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of No. 549, aimed at the implementation of an investment project for the construction of a third combined cycle plant at the Navoi thermal power plant with a capacity of 650 MW with the participation of the Japan International Development Agency (JICA).

To ensure stable supply of production facilities and the population of the country with electricity through the introduction of modern energy-efficient technologies, an agreement was signed on the allocation of a loan for a period of 30 years with a 10-year grace period in the amount of 128,246 million Japanese yen at the following annual interest rates: for consulting services – 0.01% and for the construction of a combined cycle plant – 0.5%.

As part of the investment project, tax and customs incentives will also be provided in accordance with the President’s decree of July 16, 2018 No. PP-3857 “On measures to improve the efficiency of preparation and implementation of projects with the participation of international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations.”

The project is planned to be implemented in a five-year period from 2020 to 2024. The implementation and monitoring of the project is entrusted to JSC “Issiklik Electr Stantsalari” The disbursement of JICA loan funds will begin after the approval of the project feasibility study.
