The Uzbek-Azerbaijani business forum was held in Tashkent

On the eve of the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek-Azerbaijani business forum was organized by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency.

The event was attended by heads of ministries and departments, industry associations and more than 100 representatives of major companies in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Emphasizing the achievements in investment, industry and trade, he noted the untapped potential of the two economies and the existing conditions for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in petrochemical, chemical, electrical, textile, food, pharmaceutical, jewelry, automotive and other fields. was found.

It was noted that the gradual diversification of economic cooperation between the two countries will allow Uzbek and Azerbaijani producers to create new value chains and jointly enter the markets of third countries.

It was also announced that specific measures will be taken to encourage the increase of mutual and transit traffic through the territories of the two countries, which, in turn, will deepen Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of delegations wished the Forum participants fruitful and successful work, with a view to developing specific areas of mutually beneficial partnership and reaching firm agreements.

The program of the event included panel discussions in the form of “B2B” and “G2B”, in which representatives of Uzbek and Azerbaijani businesses had the opportunity to discuss in detail the prospects of business cooperation on the basis of specific project proposals.

The forum resulted in the signing of a number of agreements on the implementation of joint projects and trade agreements worth more than $ 500 million, as well as 10 agreements on practical cooperation between the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
