Scottish company is exploring investment opportunities in Karakalpakstan and Kashkadarya region

With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK, negotiations were held between the director of TP Securities (Scotland) Jerome Brum and the khokim of the Kegeili region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Daulet Utemuratov, as well as the deputy khokims of Shahrisabz Ulugbek Rakhimov and the Guzar region of the Kashkadarya region, Olimjon Mavjon Mavilov.

During the meeting, detailed presentations of these regions of the republic were held in terms of investment opportunities and export potential, as well as issues of cooperation on participation in joint projects and the entry of Uzbek products into the regional market of Scotland were discussed in detail.Following the talks, the British company identified promising areas for each region.

In particular, preliminary agreements were reached on a detailed study of the implementation of projects with the participation of British investors in the field of establishing polypropylene production, clover seed processing, as well as in the fields of poultry and livestock breeding.The

British side expressed interest in the joint implementation of investment projects to establish the processing of fresh fruits and vegetables and leather products with further access to consumers in the markets of neighboring countries. Prospects for cooperation in such areas as the production of building materials and the joint production of canned food were discussed.

Jerome Broome said that currently the company’s specialists are conducting marketing research on the entry of certain types of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products to the Scottish market.

The parties reached an agreement on a detailed study of projects and the organization of a visit of representatives of a British company to Uzbekistan in May-June.
