Uzbek-Hungarian business forum takes place in Budapest

On 17 February, an Uzbek-Hungarian business forum was held in Budapest, as well as a meeting in the B2B format with the participation of representatives of business circles of the two countries.

The event was attended from the Uzbek side by the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov, Minister of Agriculture J.Khodjaev and representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan.

The Hungarian side was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary P. Szijjártó, General Director of “HEPA” K. Szabo, as well as Hungarian entrepreneurs.

At the beginning of the event, P. Szijjártó delivered a welcoming speech, where he noted the importance of active trade and economic relations between Hungary and Uzbekistan. He also emphasized that large-scale transformations are being carried out in Uzbekistan and Hungary in order to develop the attractiveness of national economies.

Also, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov made a speech, where he emphasized that Uzbekistan and Hungary have high potential in the implementation of investment projects in various fields.

During this forum, an agreement on cooperation was also signed between the regional departments of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Hungary.

The meeting, which was held in the B2B format, was attended by over 50 large companies engaged in the fields of mechanical engineering, food, pharmaceutical industry, deep processing of fruits and vegetables, agriculture, textiles, animal husbandry, and tourism.

During the meeting, entrepreneurs of the two countries discussed issues of further expanding trade and economic ties and developing mutually beneficial cooperation in these areas.

An open dialogue made it possible to clearly identify areas of mutual interest for further in-depth interaction, meaning the elaboration of promising projects and agreements and to determine an effective format for interaction between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Hungary.
