The head of Astana Motors called the car market of Uzbekistan comfortable

The head of Astana Motors Nurlan Smagulov assessed the automotive market of Uzbekistan, follows from an article by Forbes Kazakstan.

“This is an interesting market, we feel comfortable there. They have their own laws and protection of their own producers. We are discussing integration issues with local producers,”the publication quotes Smagulov as saying.

Now Astana Motors has nine dealers in the country – four of its own and five independent. The company operates in Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, Namangan and Fergana. Four more dealers will be added this year – one own and three independent. Astana Motors has its own auto centers in Tashkent, while in other cities they are independent: this is a special policy of the company, which wants to invest in the potential of local entrepreneurs.

Astana Motors also reported that they are considering the possibility of cooperation with domestic manufacturers. In 2020, the Kazakh Company exported 3.5 thousand cars to Uzbekistan. This year the plan is to supply 20 thousand cars to the Kazakhstan market and 10 thousand to export, including to Uzbekistan.

The first Hyundai Auto Asia dealership opened in Tashkent in January 2019. In the same year, the company sold 244 Hyundai vehicles in the country.
