UzGTL project’s implementation achieved 80%

On October 28, 2019, a visiting meeting was held at the construction site of the investment project “Production of synthetic liquid fuel based on purified methane of the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex”, in the Guzar District of Kashkadarya Region, under the guidance of Advisor to the Prime Minister, Minister of Energy – Alisher Sultanov.

The meeting was attended by the heads of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Uzbekistan GTL LLC, Shurtansky Mining and Chemical Combine LLC, project directors of the consortium of the general contractor Hyundai Engineering Ltd. and Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd., TechnipFMC project management consultant, as well as senior staff.

During the on-site meeting, the current status of the implementation of the investment project “Production of synthetic liquid fuels based on purified methane from the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex” was critically reviewed, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

It was noted that the implementation of the investment project has entered the active phase. To date, the overall progress of the implementation of the contract on a turnkey basis has been achieved by 80.4%, about 8 thousand workers have been mobilized at the construction site, more than 800 technicians are involved. More than 85% of the main technological equipment has already been delivered to the construction site, and equipment weighing more than 25.5 thousand tons has already been installed in the technological zone of the future plant.

Based on the results of the on-site meeting, it was instructed to ensure the acceleration of construction and installation work, the mobilization of an additional number of workers on the construction site, as well as a number of other instructions aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of the investment project.
