Prospects for the implementation of projects in the regions of Uzbekistan were discussed with the Japanese company GAINA Pro

Population growth, industrialization and an increase in the income and well-being of citizens will always lead to a progressive increase in municipal solid waste (MSW) if the state does not introduce an integrated system of household waste management. Already today in Uzbekistan 10 million tons of municipal solid waste are generated, of which only 10 percent is recycled, and the rest is sent to landfills. In order to resolve this issue, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has developed a Strategy for Solid Waste Management for the period from 2019-2028 one of the tasks of which is the implementation of investment projects in the field of solid waste management, including jointly with domestic entrepreneurs and foreign investors.

To search for innovative solutions in this area, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan turned to GAINA Pro, the author of a number of technological projectson chemical-free water treatment and recycling. In particular, the company developed a high-quality insulating paint for rockets and satellites for the Japan Aerospace Research Agency in order to protect them from high atmospheric temperatures.

The topic of the organized online conference was the discussion of the creation of a production plant for processing solid waste in Uzbekistan and the possibility of the participation of Japanese partners in this initiative.

GAINA Pro President Tatsuya Okuda presented the developed processing technology to the meeting participants, where solid waste, PET bottles and glass can be processed into fertilizers, fuel and a moisture-retaining substrate for subsequent use in agriculture. One of the unique features of Japanese equipment is that the processing of solid waste occurs at a temperature of 60 ℃, through biological decay, and does not require additional energy costs for burning raw materials Tatsuya Okuda noted that the equipment is highly mobile, and depending on the requested conditions, it can process the required number of tons of solid waste. And based on the volumes and classification of the generated types of waste, the financial cost of the project should be calculated.

Representatives of the khokimiyat of the Khorezm region assured that all the necessary information will be prepared for the next meeting and the specialists of Urganch Avto Eco Trans LLC will be involved, who provide waste collection and recycling services in the Khorezm region today for a deeper and more detailed study of the possibilities of using this technology in the region.

The management of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investment provided detailed information on the benefits and preferences for the implementation of the project with the participation of foreign capital and on the taxation procedure for imported technologies and equipment with further use in the project.

At the end of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to continue the dialogue for a detailed discussion of the project under consideration with the participation of a wide range of specialized specialists.
