President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution on financing the creation of the pharmaceutical cluster “Tashkent Pharma Park”

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on financing the creation of the “Tashkent Pharma Park” pharmaceutical cluster.

The document was adopted to speed up the development of the research and production base of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as expand its capabilities for the production of modern effective medicines for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious and other diseases during the coronavirus pandemic.

The project cost is $ 50 million, which will be allocated from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Consider the project proposals, determine the list of construction of priority objects, select general contractors, control the efficient use of funds allocated by the Fund and the progress of construction of priority objects will be a working group created in the cluster territory.

The Fund’s borrower is the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The expenditure associated with repaying and servicing the loan will be fulfilled by the proceeds from the realize of objects and rental of premises in the cluster, as well as funds from the Agency for Support and Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
