Natural area

Climate in the city of Jizzakh is moderately warm. In winter, there is much more rainfall than in summer. There is little rainfall throughout the year. The climate is classified as Csa by the Köppen-Geiger system. The average annual temperature in Jizzak is 15.6 °C. The average rainfall per year is 370 mm.
The relief of Jizzakh is located in the valley of Sanzar river, at the northern foot of Nuratau mountains, in the southern part of Mirzachul steppe, 180 km south-west of Tashkent, 90 km north-east of Samarkand. The city is bordered by Jizzakh and Gallaaral districts of Jizzakh region.
