On June 21, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Uzbekistan Rodrigo Soares.

During the talks, the sides discussed the development of relations and prospects for expanding them in priority areas. The sides expressed mutual interest in developing cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats within international platforms and organizations.

The issues of deepening investment and trade-economic partnership were discussed in detail. Prospects for industrial cooperation in various fields, including mining and processing of minerals, production of fertilizers and other chemicals, livestock and poultry, as well as the cultivation and processing of soybeans, corn and sugar cane were noted. Specific measures were considered to establish direct and permanent dialogue between the business circles of the two countries, including the organization of mutual business missions and network exhibitions.

This, in turn, contributes to the development of successes in increasing mutual trade. Thus, in 2021, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Brazil increased by almost 4 times compared to last year, and in January-May this year, the growth compared to the same period last year was 40%. It was agreed to develop proposals for further increase and diversification of bilateral trade.
